इस कार्यक्रम में ITC मिशन सुनहरा कल एवं श्री भुवनेश्वरी महिला आश्रम द्वारा शिवालिक नगर में कार्यक्रम का आयोजन प्राथमिक विद्यालयों, आंगनबाड़ी केन्द्रों, मंदिर समितियां के साथ मिलकर किया जा रहा है इस कार्यक्रम में स्वच्छता की ही सेवा थीम को चिरतार्थ करते हुए समुदाय के साथ जन भागीदारी के माध्यम से किए जा रहे कार्यक्रमों में प्रतिभाग किया।

Parivartan- Model School Project 

In Khanpur Block of Haridwar district Parivartan- Model School Project is being implemented in 13 Government Schools from February 2018. The purpose of the project is to create demonstrable model of school for effective delivery of equitable quality education for all children, especially girls in government schools leading to overall development of the individual and the community. Current year we are working with 20 more Govt Primary Schools in Khanpur block

Last year we renovated 7 schools. Under renovation safe drinking water, separate toilets for boys and girls, handwashing units, furniture and sports material is ensured for the children. School Building is converted as learning Aid resulting in increased school enrollment. As of now 93 more children enrolled in these schools compared to the day when project was started in the schools. The project is now benefitting 2402 children (1252

Shri BhuvneshwariMahila Ashram is implementing the Project “CHILDLINE 1098 Service” in all 710 villages of district Uttarkashi since March 2014 with the support of Ministry of Women & Child Development Govt. of India & CHILDLINE India Foundation. The project is highly focussed on to serve the children who are in need of care & protection. During the financial year, total 463 cases of children of the need of care & protection have been registered under this service.

• COMMUNICATE to make child protection everybody’s priority.

Objective- To provide safety net for the children who are in need of care & protection so that they can enjoy with their rights of protection.

Since 2012 SBMA and Usha international is implementing the project in 9 district (Chamoli,Tehri ,Uttarkashi,Almora,Dehradun,Pithoragarh, Champawat ,Nainital and Bageshwer )of uttarakhand , the main objective the project is –

To improve the financial condition of women in the rural communities by engaging them in income generation activities

Presently SBMA USHA run 450 Classical and 261 Satellite  silai schools .

USHA Silai School is one of the finest programs which ensure the women’s income and increase their social status also in society. It also provide them food security and healthy life through livelihood generation. We jointly expanded this Silai School program to almost all district of Uttarakhand such as Tehri, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Almora and Haridwar etc.

 We became successful to reach to needy and deprived women and helped them to generate income through USHA Silai School Program. In hill area of Uttarakhand, in villages, the main occupation is farming and odd jobs which people do. Hence their income is very limited and less.

 USHA Silai School provides a platform to earn more income and provide equal opportunity to all women to grow, learn and earn. In Uttarakhand there are many examples of women who are doing extraordinary work by generating good money and inspiring other women to learn and open their Silai Shop.

 Now women of Uttarakhand are becoming role models for others. Many women are approaching us for opening Silai School.  For being best program, USHA Silai School program ensures three source of income generation for women. First is, teaching other women, second is, stitching other’s clothes and third is, generate income by repairing Sewing machine in Schools nearby area.

Shivalik Nagar, Haridwar, Uttarakhand

Project Objectives

• Community led Sustainable Solid waste Management (SWM) Initiative- Minimize waste Going to Landfill
• Ensuring 100 percent Source Segregation and Treating waste as a resource
• Community empowerment to own, and develop clean and hygienic habitations

Interventions

1. Involve all Mohalla Committee member for SWM programme they will take the responsibility of decentralization and running SWM project smoothly in their respective Mohalla.
2. The existing collection system of Haridwar will be refined to include segregation at source and management of waste near the generator through focus on home and cluster composting. Currently in Shivalik Nagar less than 29 percent of Wet waste is only managed.
3. To increase the home composting and use of cluster composting there is a great need to promote scientific temperament for Kitchen garden in the community. This will be done by involving Agriculture technical centre like Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
4. Second focus is to reduce the transportation cost of waste by focusing on creation of decentralised Recyclable storage and sorting yards. Also in current year SBMA shall also work on Coordinating with Municipal Council for providing transportation facilities for secondary collection.
5. Bringing in ranking of Mohalla committee which will ensure a. Source Segregation b. Composting and c. Participation both financially and operationally.
6. Focus to rationalise the staff to induce their responsibility to ensure above task.
7. We had also work to train Waste collection workers (Rag pickers) and also try to work with National Urban Livelihood Mission to leverage their SHGs for processing of waste.
8. Regular and close follow up of Residents by Animators who are specially recruited to motivate and facilitate residents on source segregation and home composting and cluster composting.

 

 

Ashram Paryavaran Vidyalaya (APV School SBMA) is rural school located in the Himalayan Indian state of Uttarakhand. The school exists as an alternative to a mainstream education system plagued by teacher absenteeism, apathy, heavy use of physical discipline, and outdated emphasis on rote memorization. Focused on mindful and holistic education, some 75 students from the nearby villages of Kantholi, Karas, Bansoli, Koti, Churinda, Anjanisain, Raisord, Anthrethi, Jurana and Punanu currently attend the school.
10 of the children came to APV school under the Right to Education Act (RTE). APV is also currently providing support to the most needy children who crave education but cannot afford the fees, uniforms, or books.
